Organizational Assessment (including SWOT)

Once a desired future state (Vision or Goals) has been identified, one more component of the Strategic Plan is needed in order to perform a Gap Analysis. By contrasting the desired future state with a thorough understanding of the current organizational state, the Planning Team can identify the changes (Strategies and Tactics) needed to “close the gap” and realize the Vison or Goals.

Organizational Assessments compile performance information drawn from a variety of sources and perspectives, including:

  • Customer Feedback
  • Financial Statements and Ratios
  • Operational Efficiency Measures
  • Stakeholder Perceptions and Insights
  • Employee Feedback / Perceptions
  • Regulatory / Accreditation Reviews

A SWOT Analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) is often used to integrate both qualitative observations and quantitative results into a single, easy to comprehend summary.

SCS can help facilitate the development of a comprehensive Organizational Assessment as part of a Strategic Plan development process, or to fuel the identification and selection of improvement opportunities.
